DCH Visit Report

On 15 Nov, 2007, IMechE HKUST Student Chapter went to Dah Cheong Hong Holdings Headquarter in Kowloon Bay. 17 students applied this visit and 12 of them finally showed up.

We visit the car body maintenance center and a brand center in DCH. The car body maintenance center is on the 6th floor while the brand center is on the 2nd floor.

DCH only repairs and does maintenance work for their client if they bought their cars from DCH. When DCH received a car, the car would be put into basic testing center under its own brand center. It takes 20 minutes normally and ends with the brake test. Each car would be then disassembled into the car body and the engine as well as its associated parts. Though the car body of each brand is different, only the engines would be repaired under their own brand center. This is because car body needed a large space. We visited Honda Brand Center in this visit and we can only see the Honda engines. We visited the car body maintenance center and we can find the car body of all the brands.

We visited the leak test, paint mixing room, tools to repair the body bottom, etc in the car body maintenance center. Besides, we visited the government testing center next to the Honda center.
All participants enjoyed the visit and I presented the souvenir to the representative from DCH, Ms. Winnie Yeung, as shown in the figure. Thank you letter will be mailed out later on.
